The Canine Cabana was custom designed to be VERY handicapped-friendly with many ADA features. Any handicapped guests may use our on-site Landeez® All-Terrain Wheelchair to navigate nearby sandy beaches. The house has barrier-free 48" corridors and 36" doorways throughout. Lever door handles are used on all doors with easy-to-grip hardware on all cabinetry. All decking is flush with the exterior glass doors for easy visibility and barrier-free access. Motion-activated flood lights provide increased security and exterior visibility. Concrete decking is gently sloped (meets ADA guidelines) where indicated.
All bathrooms and bedrooms are accessible with MBR-2 having a 36” roll-in shower. All 3 ˝ bathrooms meet ADA maneuverability guidelines with roll-under sinks and grab bars by the toilets and bathtubs. Three of the toilets meet adult ADA guidelines while the other one is shorter to accommodate children.
1st and 2nd level flooring is laminate and bathroom ceramic tile with a short pile carpet (meets ADA guidelines) on the 3rd level Recreation Room. A convenient ELEVATOR provides access from the ground level to all interior floors.
There is a 9" toe kick space under the kitchen cabinetry. The kitchen island has a 30" work space as well as recessed cabinetry under the 36" ceramic cooktop. Additional recessed cabinetry under the double sink makes this space very accessible. A pantry with pull-out shelves provides plenty of easy-to-reach space for dry goods and cans. Another Universal Design feature is the side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with roll-out shelves and an ice/water dispenser on the door. The oven and microwave are at workable heights as is the front-loading Washer & Dryer.
